Ikoniska designmöbler

Throughout the history of design, certain pieces of furniture have become more than just furniture. They have become symbols of an era, a designer, or a way of thinking about design and function.

At WERKS Design House, we have a great appreciation for these design classics. Many of them were created in the mid-20th century and continue to be sought after worldwide.

Here we collect some of the most iconic designer furniture in Scandinavian and international design. Many of these pieces have become collector's items and are appreciated for both their design and their history.

We regularly purchase and distribute furniture from these designers and producers.

Scandinavian design history

Scandinavian design is known for its balance between function, materials and aesthetics. During the 1940s–1970s, a design tradition developed in which furniture was created to be both beautiful and useful in everyday life.

Designers such as Bruno Mathsson, Hans J. Wegner, Arne Jacobsen and Finn Juhl have had a major impact on the development of modern furniture design.

Many of these pieces of furniture are still produced today and are considered some of the most significant design classics in the world.
